ESD is short for Electro Static Discharge,BAI means electrostatic Discharge: the transfer of electric charge between twoobjects at different potentials caused by direct contact or induction ofelectrostatic field. It can be seen that static electricity and electrostaticdischarge (ESD) are completely different physical concepts or physicalprocesses. One is "static", the other is "dynamic".Accompanied by electrostatic discharge, there is often the transfer ofelectricity, current generation and electromagnetic field radiation.
Electrostatic protection measures generallyhave the following:
Electrostatic dissipation: mainly the useof electrostatic dissipation materials (that is, surface resistance between 10to the power of 5 ohms to 10 to the power of 11 ohms of material), instead ofordinary materials. For example, the anti-static radio pad used in theanti-static working area, anti-static floor, anti-static packaging box and so on.
Electrostatic discharge: it usually refersto the grounding of equipment and personnel, that is, the equipment is groundedthrough the standard cross-sectional area of metal wire, and the personnel isgrounded through bracelet, clothing, anti-static shoes and other measures.
Electrostatic neutralization: generallyrefers to the use of grounding or electrostatic dissipation measures in theoccasion, the use of ion generator to produce positive and negative ions, andthe ions to the need to eliminate the electrostatic area, to neutralize theelectrostatic generated. Common ion fan, wind snake and so on.
Electrostatic shielding: Electrostaticshielding is divided into active shielding and passive shielding. It mainlyrefers to the use of Faraday cage principle, the use of closed conductor tostatic power or to protect the product for shielding.
Environmental humidification: theexperimental data show that the increase of ambient humidity can effectivelyreduce the probability of electrostatic discharge. But environmentalhumidification can only be used as an auxiliary measure, can not replace theabove measures.
ESD protection design of electronicproducts: the anti-static circuit is set on the electrostatic sensitivecomponents. There are a variety of mature protection circuits at home andabroad, which can effectively protect the maximum electrostatic voltage of upto kV. Protecting circuits can reduce the sensitivity of components to ESD, butcannot eliminate it completely.
